คำว่า Touch เป็นคำกริยา แปลว่า จับ หรือสัมผัส คำนี้สามารถนำมาเป็นวลีกริยาหรือรวมคำอื่นให้มีความหมายแสดงออกในด้านต่างๆได้อีกมากมายดังนี้

• Get in touch มีความหมายว่า เริ่มที่จะติดต่อใครบางคน เช่น I’ve been trying to get in touch with you all morning. Where have you been?
• Lose one’s touch มีความหมายว่า สูญเสียความสามารถในการทำบางสิ่งบางอย่างให้ได้ดีแบบที่เคยทำมาก่อน เช่น It seems like Mike’s lost his touch with skiing.

• Touch-and-go มีความหมายว่า เหตุการณ์วิกฤติ เช่น Everything was touch-and-go before Jack’s operation.
• Touch base มีความหมายว่า คุยกับใครบางคนในช่วงเวลาหนึ่ง เช่น While we were in London. We touched base with some old friends.
