Unless นั้นแปลว่า นอกจากว่า, เว้นแต่ว่า, ถ้าไม่ (ถ้ามีบางอย่างเกิดขึ้น อีกอย่างไม่สามรถเกิดขึ้นได้) ซึ่งสามารถใช้แทนคำว่า if not ก็ได้ มีความหมายเหมือนกัน
