เพื่อนๆเคยได้ยินคำย่อคำนี้หรือเปล่า คำว่า STEM บางคนอาจจะเคยถูกถามว่าเกี่ยวกับคำย่อนี้มาก่อนเช่น ไปเรียนต่อในสาย STEM หรือเปล่า, จบมาไปทำงานเกี่ยวกับ STEM หรือเปล่า บางคนก็อาจจะงงว่าหมายถึงอะไร STEM CELL หรือเปล่า
จริงๆแล้วคำว่า STEM นั้นย่อมาจาก Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (วิทยาศาตร์, เทคโนโลยี, วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และ คณิตศาสตร์) นั้นเอง โดยส่วนใหญ่จะนิยมใช้คำย่อ STEM ในวงการการศึกษา ซึ่งทั้ง 4 ศาสตร์เหล่านี้เป็นศาสตร์แห่งศตวรรษนี้เลยก็ว่าได้ เรียกได้ว่าถ้าใครจบออกมาไม่มีทางตกงานแน่นอน
นอกจากคำย่อ STEM แล้วยังคำย่ออื่นๆที่หมายถึงวิชาต่างๆคล้ายๆ STEM เช่น
