การทำงานในโลกปัจจุบันนี้นิยมนำภาษาอังกฤษมาใช้ในการสื่อสาร ทั้งทางอีเมล์ ติดต่อลูกค้า การประชุมและการเขียนรายงาน วันนี้มาเรียนรู้การแสดงออกด้านภาษาอังกฤษในการทำงานและเชิงธุรกิจกัน ซึ่งเป็นสำนวนที่นิยมพูดกันในที่ทำงานหรือนำมาแสดงออกกันในการประชุมงานต่างๆ ซึ่งจะดูทางการ แต่ก็ยังสามารถใช้ได้ในแบบไม่เป็นทางการด้วย

• Flat out = Very busy เราสามารถใช้คำว่า Flat out ในการพูดคุยบอกว่าเรายุ่งๆมากๆได้ เช่น I’ve been flat out all week, I am exhausted.
• Train of thought = เป็นลักษณะการลืมหรือมีบางอย่างมาขัดจังหวะทำให้สิ่งที่กำลังพูดคุยอยู่หายไป เช่น Oh! I’ve lost my train of thought! What was I talking about?
• On track = สิ่งที่ควรเกิดขึ้น สิ่งที่ควรจะเป็นอยู่ในระบบ สิ่งที่ติดตาม เช่น We missed the deadline last week, but we have just submitted the report now, so we are getting back on track. ซึ่งสิ่งที่ตรงข้ามกับ On track ก็คือ off track หมายถึงสิ่งที่ไม่ควรเกิดขึ้น สิ่งที่เลิกการติดตาม = to get lost
• (to) bank on = แน่ใจว่าจะเป็นสิ่งนั้น มั่นใจว่าจะเกิดขึ้น เช่น I’m banking on Hanna to get a promotion, so that I can apply for her position.
• (to) brush up on = to update or improve your skills พัฒนาทักษะของคุณ เป็นวลีที่มีประโยชน์มาก สามารถใช้ได้หลายโอกาส เช่น I’m brushing up on my Japanese, because I’ve got a business trip in September.
• (to) bring something to the table = เป็นการพูดถึงหรืออธิบายถึงบางสิ่งที่นำประโยชน์มาให้ เช่น The great thing about David is that he brings years of management experience to the table.
• (to) bring up = การแนะนำหัวข้อ หรือพูดถึงเรื่องที่จะพูด เช่น I’ll bring it up with Sarah when I see her next week.
• (to) turn down = เป็นการพูดปฏิเสธ เช่น They offered me tickets to the conference, but I had to turn them down because it’s my son’s birthday.
