โดยปกติเราคุ้นเคยคำศัพท์ Walk แปลว่า เดิน ซึ่งเป็นคำกริยาอยู่แล้ว  แต่ถ้าหาก Walk ที่เป็นกริยาวลีล่ะ จะมีความหมายแตกต่างไปจากเดิมมากน้อยแค่ไหน? มาดู วลีเกี่ยวกับ Walk ที่น่าสนใจกัน

• Walk away มี 2 สองความหมาย คือ
  1. ถอนตัวจากเหตุการณ์ปัญหาต่างๆ เช่น Company lawyers told him to walk away from the deal.
  2. อยู่รอดจากเหตุการณ์ที่ท้าทายหรืออันตราย เช่น The football team walked away with a 1-0 victory.
• Walk away from มีความหมายว่า ทิ้งไป ออกจาก หลบหนี เช่น He decided to walk away from his job after expressing much dissatisfaction with his boss.
• Walk in on มีความหมายว่า เข้าไปคั่น ขัดจังหวะ เช่น She accidentally walked in on me while I was undressing.
• Walk into มี 2 สองความหมาย คือ
  1. ชนกับ เช่น Mind you don’t walk into that wall.
  2. หล่นเข้าไปในกับดัก เช่น You really walked into that one, didn’t you?

• Walk it off มีความหมายว่า ออกไปเดินเล่น ย่อยอาหาร หรือสูดอากาศ เช่น It doesn’t feel too bad. Let me walk it off.
• Walk out มีความหมายว่า เดินออกมาด้วย.. เดินออกมากับ… เช่น The maidservant has been walking out with the butcher’s man.
