• Wake up หมายถึง ตื่นนอน หรือทำให้คนอื่นตื่น เช่น Dan usually wakes up early.
• Sleep in หมายถึง ปล่อยให้ตัวเองนอนหลับได้สายกว่าวันอื่นๆ เช่น We usually sleep in on Sunday mornings.
• Drop off หมายถึง เริ่มจะหลับ เช่น He kept dropping off at his desk.
• Go off หมายถึง ไปนอน เข้านอน เช่น I’d just gone off to sleep when the phone rang.
• Sleep through หมายถึง นอนหลับติดต่อกันเป็นระยะเวลานาน เช่น I slept right through till lunchtime.
• Stay up หมายถึง ไม่ได้เข้านอนเป็นเวลาปกติแบบทุกคืน เช่น We stayed up all night talking.
• Lie down หมายถึง เอนตัวนอนลง เช่น Just lie down on the bed.
• Doze off หมายถึง นอนหลับโดยไม่รู้ตัว งีบหลับ เช่น Sorry, I must have doze off for a few minutes.
• Sleep on it หมายถึง ตัดสินใจล่าช้าไปจนกระทั่งวันใหม่ เช่น Sleep on it and we’ll talk tomorrow Okay?
